Arranging Your First Visit

Newcomers must arrange there first visit with our Club Membership Officer before attending the grounds. This is to ensure we have a committee member present when you arrive to show you around the club as well as go through safety rules with you. If you do not do this you will not be able to shoot, it’s very important for obvious reasons that you know the safety rules.

If you are interested in joining our club you are required to contact our Memberships Rep. When a space is available within our memberships you will be invited down for an induction. Due to the high number of enquires that we get there is a high likelihood that you will be placed on a waiting list before being invited down. We wish we didn’t have to do this but we are limited on space.

Advice For Your First Visit

When you have arranged your first visit please turn up at the agreed time to help us make the day run smoothly for you. It’s a good idea to keep the following in mind:

  • If you are bringing a gun with you it must have a case or bag until you enter the range area
  • Any guns you bring with you must be legal airguns under 12ft/lbs of energy and will be tested
  • Wear outdoor clothing, you’re going to be outside
  • If you’re ever unsure what you’re meant to be doing, ask for help
  • If you’re bringing a child they must remain supervised by a parent at all times

When you first arrive at the club please ask someone for the committee member you arranged your visit with, club members will be happy to greet you and point you in the right direction.

Newcomers must attend 3 visits to the club for insurance reasons before they can join and become a full member. The cost of visiting is £5 per shooter which covers your insurance. This is explained further here.

If you are using our club rifle you will also need a tin of .177 pellets, these are usually available for sale within the club.
